SENSORY DEPRIVATION?
You know you’re getting old when you start referring to events as being “not too long ago” or “just the other day” as if they are recent when they’re not. I remember ‘not too long ago’ hearing older folks referring to things that happened 10 years ago and thinking to myself “god that’s ancient”. Now I’m coming up on only a year until my 10th high school reunion, seems like that was ‘just the other day’. I saw some photos of myself from 2001 and I remember that time like it was a couple of years ago, but it was 5 YEARS AGO, and I was all skinny and young and stuff. What’s going on here? I noticed wrinkles in my forehead that seem to be getting permanent. Hrmmmm… that ain’t cool. I also find myself fantasizing about going back in time and redoing parts of my life and actually sort of believing somewhere deep down that just maybe by some metaphysical miracle, that could actually happen. In some ways it feels like I’m becoming MORE open-minded and in other ways it seems like I’m getting less open-minded.

Or, maybe you’re going crazy! But, as long as you like who you are, then there’s no need to worry about the past… No need to regret. Everything from your past makes who you are today. You learn from bad decisions just as much as the good decisions. All you have to worry about is doing your best today. Looking back is always 20/20…blah blah blah .. said the wise man…

Oh, the lines add character…really ;)
