PIMP MY LAPTOP
I saw an ad for this “contest” where you submit a design for the cover of a laptop computer. The prize is a free laptop with your design on it. Of course I know its a scam for them to get a bunch of free designs, but if you don’t give them your high res version, than they can’t use it anyway. Sooooo I took about 20 minutes to whipe this design up, (with a shameless promotion of the company behind the contest to boost my chances…) I could use a free lapteezy.

3D Rendering/My Apartment
This is a cool 3D Rendering of my apartment using Google SketchUp. It’s not perfect, and the yellow areas I did in Photoshop so they aren’t in correct perspective, but you get the idea… p.s. Please note, Ruez has gotten HUGE.

SCAMMERS
I’m trying to sell my palm pilot on craigslist and I got this weird response. Some dude wants to buy it and won’t tell me where he is, of course he wants my contact info and says he will handle shipping. So I don’t give him any info and ask him what he means about he ‘will handle shipping’? And then he stops emailing. Loser. Plus his English was all broken. I’ve had really good luck buying and selling on craigslist, but its always been local. Don’t buy or sell anything long distance… its weird, I read into craigslist’s scam warnings, and even if someone pays you with a money order, and you cash it, the bank that cashes it can still come back to you later if it ends up not going through and hold you liable.
ENGLISH SCRUMPETS
A friendly lady, just one of about 5 million people who work at my new office, just stopped by and offered me some home baked english scone/muffin things. And of course, me being the type never to turn down food as it is basically the main building block in the sustaining of life and what not? Well I took two, cause she said take two. And she went on and on about how she learned the recipe from some old english woman, and I kinda thought to myself ‘gross’ but the raisins in these mo’s was so totally good and what not.
FOLLOW-UP
Ok, so I’m not paranoid. I wrote to a local news organization yesterday asking them if they knew anything about yesterday’s mysterious, here-one-minute gone-the-next Supreme Court building evacuation story. And I received a response:
–
Dear Eric,
Our Web site made the editorial decision to hold off from posting the story until we received more information. The situation lasted less than an hour, and the Supreme Court was not evacuated. Here is the information:
WASHINGTON (AP) - D.C. Firefighters have been dealing with a smoky situation at the Supreme Court, but the court has not been evacuated.
D.C. Fire and EMS spokesman Alan Etter says there was an electrical short in a sub-basement area just after 9 a.m. that created the smoke. But Etter says it did not extend to the upper floors. Etter says no one was injured, and things are operating as usual at the court.
A large tour group was getting ready to enter the building at the time of the incident when firefighters went into the building’s basement, which may have kept the tour group outside. (Copyright 2006 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
Hope this helps!

This morning I noticed a ‘Breaking News’ event on CNN.com… the headline read ‘U.S. Supreme Court buidling evacuated, after reports of smoke…’ or something like that. But then, about 15, 30 minutes later its gone, and there is no story about it and nowhere to be found at all? Wery wery, weird.
NATTY LITE
Goin to see the Nats tomizzle nizzle with mizzle. Maybe I’ll get a new Nats hat since mine is doity and I don’t feel like doing a load if youknowwhatimean. Maybe I’ll get Mary a pink one? I like the options, but I gotta say, who in their right mind?
P.S. Just warning, since I will be in attendance of this ballgame, chances are pretty good that the team I’m rooting for will lose. I must have a lifetime professional sports viewing average of like .100, it ain’t pretty in other words. Or in other words to my other other words, It’s like murphy’s law, only they should call it Eric Murphy’s law… I might put that one in the wiki.

SAIL PHONE
Well, I found out the hard way today that the Motorola Razr phone should in fact be called the ‘Sail’ phone. Is it slim? Yes. Is it wide? Kinda. Do wind gusts of up to 40 mph take a hold of it and make it fly? Absolutely.
Luckily mine landed in a bush, so its all good in the hood.
