RIVER’S ALSO INSANE
June 28th, 2006
We were planning on kayaking this weekend on an overnight trip… but this rain looks to be possibly putting an end to that. Listen to this… when the Shenandoah River is over 6ft. high, it is generally too dangerous to kayak on. It is normally at about 2, to 2.5 ft. high. Right not, it is at 13ft.!!!
Also, the average discharge (speed) of the river is around 300 cubic ft. per second… today it is at 20,000 cubic ft. per second. Uhhhhhhhhh. The weather-dude was saying that rain like this happens once every 300 years. So basically, it ain’t lookin’ good.
RAIN
June 26th, 2006
This rain is insane. A 15 mile stretch of route 66 was closed Saturday night for 3 hours! That’s just weird. I was watching the traffic online because Mary was trying to get to the eastern shore to see her dad… there was a car fire, but I didn’t think it warranted an entire highway closure for 3 hours. Speaking of rain, here’s a quick story about a woman who survived a crash from 33,000 ft., lone survivor, and only human to ever fall from that high and live.

First of all I find it very amusing that we (the U.S.) feel the need to sink as low as terrorists by publicizing every terrorist we kill, even though it seems they multiply x 10 evertime we kill one. And second of all, does anyone else find it weird that after a 500 lb. bomb is dropped on a house in Iraq killing 6 men including the top terrorist Al-Zarkawi - the body of Al-Zarkawi is found amongst the rubble without a scratch on him whatsoever? Uhhhhh. Yeah… right.

FISH AND REFISH
June 6th, 2006
It’s really difficult finding the best places to fish… I mean finding out about a good river is hard enough as it is, but then, trying to pinpoint where to go to access the river is almost impossible. Ryan and I drove around for hours trying to find the river we were aiming for. Sometimes you just have to park in a field or the side of the road and start treking through the woods until you find it, and then you need to lookout for hunting signs or you could be mistaken for deermeat.
