FLYIN
December 24th, 2006
I don’t know why, but every once in awhile I have these very vivid dreams about myself flying by flapping my arms. It’s very weird, but one of the last versions of this dream I had, I was flying in some sort of an NYC / Gotham City landscape, dodging helicopters and finding myself very lost. But anyways, this man actually does this for REAL and I’m jealous as a mo.

THE KARNS FIVE
December 20th, 2006
I was joking with Mary this morning that if we have kids I will be forming a family band and we will be traveling all over the midwest performing, just like the Jackson Five did. I told her she would have to play the tambourine (which she didn’t like to hear) and she said I was too controlling. So I asked her “What do you want to play?” and she said “the piano!” - so I said “I play the piano, and we can’t have 2!!” so she said “Ok I will play the flute.” Which I thought was a pretty good compromise.
I’m hoping that around the time our band is formed the cyclical nature of the music industry will be heading back towards the Motown sound because that would work perfectly with our ensemble. We will also be wearing skin tight, nylon suits which will have many tassels and look fabulous! Glitter may become an issue because of the glue used to adhere it to the skin, and I’ll bet my kids will have sensitive skin… but then again in the future there will be non-toxic adhesives which are conducive to every-day use on the skin and probably hypo allergenic too so that probably won’t be an issue…
I INSIST ON EAR PLUGS for all members of the band as well because the bass of the future will be EXTREMELY damaging to the ears, what with the 4th and 5th dimensions being discovered which will bring a whole set of issues in the music world. 5.1 Dolby surround sound will be a thing of the past and I’m not sure yet what will take its place.

This test nailed my accent pretty dead on. I still find it hard to call pop, soda as an adopted east-coastian. What accent do you have?
| What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North
You may think you speak “Standard English straight out of the dictionary” but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like “Are you from Wisconsin?” or “Are you from Chicago?” Chances are you call carbonated drinks “pop.” |

TRAVELS CHP. 2
December 10th, 2006

I took a drive up to San Francisco this morning. Drove across the Golden Gate bridge, and on to the Pacific Coast Highway, then back across the bay bridge near Berkely and on to San Jose.
The following video clip is the result of business trip boredom and is meant for entertainment purposes only. No animals were harmed in the filming of this video. And now…. my Pacific Coast Highway driving video.

Ok, so the only photo I shot of San Jose so far is nothing impressive… I’ve been up since 4am, so I don’t exactly have the energy left to find an impressive shot.
*Travel tidbit: Avoid being squeezed between two old geezers on a 5.5 hour flight because it smells like old people. Haha!

SAN JOSE ON BIDNESS
December 2nd, 2006

I’ll be in San Jose for 10 days on business starting next Tuesday! I can’t wait! San Jose is just south of San Francisco, and I’ve always wanted to visit the Rice-a-Roni capitol… I’m planning on taking a drive down the Pacific Coast Highway to Carmel on the weekend. If anyone has any site seeing suggestions please let me know! I know my dad visited when I was young and brought back a huge pine cone, so we’ll see if I can get that past security on the way bac myself! Ha!
