YEAH! TELL ‘EM!!!

There are some pretty major anti-war demonstrations in DC today, one of which is right next to where I work at McPherson Square. I shot this photo (I apologize for the quality) from across the street around 10:30am. We’re just a few blocks from the white house. Hopefully by this afternoon it will draw a bigger crowd and I’ll try to post photos of those later.

In 1999 the Daily Show came to my hometown and did a funny skit about a local artist who made lint sculptures. I remember my friend telling me about it at the time, but I had no idea what the Daily Show was back then. The funny thing is, the church they feature was one I attended sometimes and played the piano at once; and who’s pastor was my buddy’s dad. They actually interview my friend’s dad for a second in this piece too. Pretty funny.

My dad and I are resurrecting Karns Electronics, albeit in a slightly different form. The original Karns Electronics, owned by my grandpa sold Karns Loudspeakers for home audio for over 50 years. But in its new form it will be an educational system for vocational ed high school students with possible college application as well. My dad is currently drafting lessons and I’ll be on the marketing end. If all goes well, I’ll be posting blogs from Bora Bora this time next year.

Well I was planning on meeting John Edwards and Barack Obama today at the ‘Take Back America Conference’… I thought I might get the obligatory ‘early political life of Eric Karns’ photo taken while shaking their hands…

But, we had an office meeting last week where we were informed that our group is sucking, and that we are “not yet at a point where we are asking not to take vacations”… which is basically another way of saying ‘don’t take time off’.
